Windswept Hair, Salty Air, and a Girl with Her Dog

Late-summer on the PNW coast — salty air, soft sand, and quiet moments with her loyal service dog by her side. These are the little snapshots of childhood that feel timeless

There’s something magical about the Pacific Northwest coast. The waves crash against the rocks, the salty breeze tangles in your hair, and time seems to move a little slower. For me, the beach is one of those places where real life and beauty blend perfectly — which is why I love bringing my camera here.

This session was extra special because it wasn’t just any photo shoot. It was with my daughter and her constant companion, her service dog. Watching them together on the shoreline reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place: to capture connection, love, and the small moments that tell a much bigger story.

There’s something magical about the late-summer coast — where every tide brings new treasures and every glance between a girl and her service dog tells a story of trust, love, and companionship

As summer begins to fade into fall, there’s a certain bittersweet beauty in days like this. The last coastal walks of the season, the salty wind catching her hair, the sound of waves reminding us that seasons — like childhood — are always moving forward. These images feel like a love letter to the end of summer, holding onto warmth and freedom before cozy autumn settles in.

Joy in motion — laughter, salty air, and a service dog leaping with excitement. These late-summer beach moments remind us that the simplest days are often the most unforgettable

Her dog never strayed far, staying right by her side. There’s a quiet strength in their bond, a loyalty that shines through in every glance and every playful pause. The way he sits patiently, the way she leans in close to him for comfort — it’s more than just a girl and her dog. It’s partnership, trust, and unconditional love.

The overcast sky gave us moody blues and soft light, making the colors of her floral dress and the dog’s pink vest pop against the natural tones of the sand and sea. These little details — the texture of driftwood, the shimmer of wet sand, the wind-blown strands of hair — are what make coastal sessions so unique.

For families who dream of capturing memories in a place that feels wild and free, the Pacific Northwest coast offers endless possibilities. Whether it’s kids running along the shoreline, couples exploring tidepools, or a quiet moment with your best furry friend, these settings create the kind of images that feel timeless.

Playful leaps, sandy feet, and the last golden days of summer — a girl and her service dog soaking up every moment of their coastal adventure.

This session is a reminder that photography doesn’t have to happen in a studio or at golden hour in a field (though I love those too!). It can happen during an adventure, while camping by the coast, or on a breezy afternoon with the ocean at your feet. And sometimes, those are the moments that mean the most.

If you’ve been dreaming of photos that feel more like your life — playful, heartfelt, and a little adventurous — I’d love to help you tell your story.

Until next time,
Agnes

I mainly work with families, and small businesses located in Lake Stevens, Mill Creek, Edmonds, Everett, Seattle and other areas of Snohomish and King Counties. I document the special events of families' lives as well as helping small businesses with branding photography. Washington State has captivating photo session locations pretty much everywhere so there are plenty of choices available as well as my willingness to drive to discover new places.
