Why 2026 Is the Year to Capture Your Story
A new year always brings a moment to pause, reflect, and realign — and 2026 feels especially meaningful for me and for Pacific Mist Photography.
This year, my heart is fully centered on family lifestyle photography. Capturing real connections, quiet in-between moments, laughter, chaos, and love — that will always be the foundation of my work. Families grow and change so quickly, and these everyday moments deserve to be remembered in a way that feels honest and timeless.
At the same time, 2026 also marks an exciting season of growth. I’ve rented a studio this year, which allows me to expand more intentionally into portraits — from branding and creative portraits to seniors and pets. Having a dedicated space opens the door for more flexibility, comfort, and creativity, and I’m so excited to see what unfolds there.
This year is also full of firsts.
I’m launching my first-ever Branding Ambassador Program, created for small business owners who want fresh, consistent imagery throughout the year. I’m also planning a Senior Team Program for high school seniors, coming soon, which will offer a meaningful, confidence-building experience while telling their story authentically. And pets — one of my biggest personal joys — are officially fully open for booking in 2026. I cannot wait to photograph the animals who are such an important part of your families.
What feels most different this year, though, is not just what I’m offering — it’s how I’m working.
In 2026, I want my business to feel both exclusive and open. More intentional. More organized. More focused on experience and delivery. I’m stepping away from overbooking and from overwhelming galleries filled with hundreds of images. Less doesn’t mean worse — it means faster delivery, better quality, and more care put into every photograph you receive.
To support this, I’ve also introduced a new, simplified booking system. From inquiry to contract and payment, the process is now easier, clearer, and more streamlined — so you can book your session with confidence and less back-and-forth. My goal is for everything, from planning to final delivery, to feel smooth and stress-free.
I’m also leaning more deeply into something I truly believe in: printed memories. Albums, books, and prints are not just products — they’re keepsakes. Phones are wonderful tools, but they’re not always the safest place for our most important memories. Photographs deserve to live in your hands, on your walls, and in albums that your children will flip through years from now.
As a mom, I feel this more than ever. Time moves incredibly fast. Our kids change before our eyes, and while we spend so much energy teaching them how to navigate the world, how to be kind, strong, and grounded — it’s just as important to preserve who they are right now. These images become part of a family’s legacy. A reminder of love, connection, and belonging.
